Effects of Dried Spinach Leaf Supplementation on Performance and Egg Quality in Laying Hen Diets

This study was aimed to determine effects of the addition dry spinach leaves laying hen diets on performance, egg quality and yolk colour. A total 40 Lohman white hens, 38 weeks old, were allocated 4 treatment groups, with 10 replicates in individual cages. The groups as follows: 1) Negative control group (NC, there is no colorant), 2) Positive (PC, commercial colorant) basal diet), 3) 1% ground leaf diet (SL1) 2% (SL2). Supplementation dried did not affect live weight, feed consumption, hen-day production, conversion ratio (FCR), shape index, shell thickness. However, highest weight found NC group, lowest PC SL2 (P<0.01). SP1 group`s mas higher than other SP` lower (P<0.05). albumen height (P<0.01) similar groups.
